Teaching Support for Faculty

Research & Information Literacy Skills Instruction

Librarians work with faculty to support students' development of research and information literacy skills. Instruction is delivered in different formats, including in-class, customized course guides, and short videos. Contact the Library or the Subject Librarian associated with your program to discuss options. 

In-class sessions can prepare students for specific assignments and course learning outcomes. 

The North Oshawa Library has two classrooms with seating and computer workstations that may be combined to accommodate up to 60 students.


Course Reserves

To facilitate students' access to course readings, faculty may wish to make specific books or articles available in the Library for a short term loan period of three hours, one day or three days. Reserves are subject to copyright compliance.


E-Resources for Courses

Faculty may provide access to Library e-resources by posting links in DC Connect or elsewhere. For information on creating permanent links, see the Copyright Guide or contact the Library for assistance. 


Copyright & Open Education Resources

Purchase Suggestions

The Library welcomes purchase suggestions from faculty. Please note that the Library does not acquire course textbooks; however, such materials may be purchased by your department or donated by faculty and placed on reserve. Contact the Subject Librarian for your program with your suggestions or use the form below.
