About D-Scholar

Durham College's institutional repository is called D-Scholar. It stores, preserves and disseminates digital copies of the research and scholarly output of faculty, researchers, and students. Materials in D-Scholar are openly available and discoverable through search engines such as Google Scholar. This high visibility, discoverability, and exposure can lead to increased citation.  

Why Submit?

Increase Visibility: Because D-Scholar is indexed in major search engines, authors boost the discoverability and readership of their work. 

Ensure Longevity: D-Scholar assigns permanent URLs, so links will never change and your work will remain in a stable location online. In addition, we ensure uploaded files do no degrade or change over time. 

Comply with funding requirements: You can  comply with the Tri-Agency Open Access Policy by depositing your publication in D-Scholar when receiving funding from CIHR, NSERC, SSHRC. 

Retain Copyright: Authors retain copyright when submitting work to D-Scholar. 

Who can submit?

D-Scholar accepts submissions from members of the Durham College/Ontario Tech University community including faculty, staff, and students with faculty sponsorship. 

How does copyright work?

When uploading work to D-Scholar authors retain copyright and grant the library a universal non-exclusive license to distribute and preserve. The library can answer any questions on copyright and author rights [copyright@durhamcollege.ca]
